John, This is a great photo. I love the contrast between all the brown-grey colors and the white of the boat. The markings in the earth add lots of interest. Your portfolio is very enjoyable. -- Debby

Great silky shot with good treatment.Maybe the rear seat of the boat could do with being white like the inside section. Just a thought..

This is a masterful treatment, John. The low key, despite the mid-day sun contrasts with the pronounced white of the lapstrake hull. The total effect is really good. It's almost as if the white of the hull was in color and the rest a toned black and white. Interesting and effective.

Beautiful curves and clean paint on the outside, grunge on the inside. Interesting contrast. Looks as if it can't make up its mind whether its straight B&W or sepia!

Hi John I am pretty new to this game and shoot at max noise reduction and never faster than 160 ISO which is as slow as the Koadak lets me go... but I love the mood you have created not only in this shot but most of your portfolio..there's a niggling sense of loneliness a certain je ne sais quois as they say... hints at sadness and touches of melancholy..that always appeals to me

Yea. Thanks Rog. I guess that's one of the appeals of shooting digital. If you don't blow the highlights you can get a lot out of the shadows, as long as you have a good noise reduction technique. Cheers John

Striking image. The angle of the boat and the detail are great. The darkish ground looks a bit odd to me though.
