That's a great place to park, with a view like that I could stand spending the night in that car, or maybe a week.

Hi John,
wow, this an awesome composing. your whole portfolio is a killer.
this one lives from the strong colors in combination with the rusted beauty and the nature surrounding it. it seems that this alien has become part of the nature.
while I like the distorsion free lines here, I would love to see this one in a uber-wide-angle-version. My guess is that a little more space around the vanguard would probably push more beef into the scene. just an idea though ;-)
great one.
rgds, thilo

Hi Christos, thanks for your comment. I shoot in raw and process my pictures in Photoshop CS. The best advice I can give is to read all you can and look at some of the quality web sites like Fred Miranda, Computer darkroom, Luminous-landscape etc. All these sites have good advice and tutorials. Most of the people who submit images to these sites are also very happy to offer advice when asked. If Photoshop CS is too expensive have a look at the recently released Photoshop Elements 3.
Keep taking pictures and be self critical. Take pictures that satisfy you first and you will find that as you develop your own style you will get more feedback from your viewers.
Regards John.

Great pictures John. The themes are powerfull and the colours are very well balanced to express that. How do you achieve that?
I have just started digital photography and I would appreciate some good tips.
Thanks.

Ahh - nice rusty car and lovely saturated colours - those are great. I like the scenery with the old car out there....(not so good for the nature but heavenly nice for the photographers).

Thanks for your comment Roger. Yes Usefilm has increased the saturation of the vanguard. With the original downsized file converted to sRGB open on my screen along with the Usefilm image, there is a definite increase in saturation. Particularly the yellows and reds. I will post another version and sligtly desaturate it to see the difference. Regards John

I drove one of those for a few years in my early twenties... mine had a rather different rear end, though, and I didn't recognize this one. Interesting colour scheme! I did think the saturation was a bit over the top. Surely Usefilm doesn't ENHANCE saturation? That's the last thing I would have thought we needed...

Almost bought one of these a couple of years ago. I think it may be we crave such colours in our retirement. Something wonderfully slide film about it and the light.

Great old subject to photograph. I like the way the greens in the vanguard relate to the colour in the ocean. Nice work. Greg

Thanks Chris,The saturation is probably a bit too much. The original file is not so bright. I think it may have something to do with compression by the usefilm software? Cheers John
