Very good detail here.
And what a cool looking bird.
Thank you so much in pointing out these images for me, they are allot of help in making my decision.
I see no problem with quality in this image.

S.D., I like this image for its great color, background and sharpness. But a mighty regal bird like this in shackles hurts a lot. Cheers

Just keep 'em coming Stu. With shots like this I can learn a thing or two from you. This is terrific. The detail of the bird is spot on and regards the background, if that's how it is I tend to leave it alone. Fabulous shot!!

Nice shot of this caracara. Did you know that the colour near the eye changes of excitement from yellow to orange? Normally it is yellow. The leather on the right leg is not so disturbing in this picture, I normally do not show any sign of captivity in my animal-photography. But with birds of prey it is mostly difficult when you want to present them as a whole bird. A headstudy is nice, but to present it how you did even more.

Great job, well done!

Regards,
Ramon

Great shot.. superb work! You really pressed that shutter the right time here.. great clarity and details.. great colors and light! Is it a tame one? Im thinking of the leather strap he has on his leg

Cheers

I would change it completely if i found the perfect background, something more like a desert, this is my imagination to the subject, but if you didn't find it, or didn't have the time to look, blurring the background would be the best thing to do. My best Regards,

Your "humble" opinion my friend is always welcomed with open arms and greatly appreciated - do you mean change the background completely or blur it more?

Ameed El-Ghoul Ameed El-Ghoul   {K:42215} 11/27/2004
What an excellent capture Stu, you got the bird in the focus in a nice way, you know what, if you want a simple opinion, i would tell the you picture is really nice, if you want to go beyond the expectation, i would tell you install a different background, that force the eye to concentrate on the bird only, this is of course my humble opinion and doesn't mean by any how this picture is not wonderful, Regards my friend,

i would have to agree with you william - i tweaked the levels slightly after i cropped it because it was completely underexposed but i couldn't take it any further withought blowing out the backgound ( which i think is what the camera metered for )and the wings' edges - that was the other problem. Probably someone with better ps skills would have been able to do it. Thanks again for your opinion and advice!
