Two very entertaining shots Stu. What strikes me about them both is how their cheeks seem puffed out. My mental image of meercats is they have very thin pointed faces. You've captured a more attractive side of their personality. Very fine detail too.

hey le - thanks for the excellent feedback. I think that the difference in DOf is due purely to the distance between myself and them - the other one was a lot closer and i was using the mcaro setting on the lens.

Very cute and excellent quality.
I looked at both of these and without looking at the settings I guessed that you used a deeper dof on this one.....I was wrong, I just thought that this was had more of the subject in focus, therefore thinking it had greater dof.
I really do enjoy looking at images that I can compare and try to learn from......going have to study these more.
None the less both are excellent quality, pose and composition.
