About Taken in lake Powell, Arizona. This was taken at the Lone Rock Beach. Looking for interesting things to photograph I ran out of idea so I took my 24-105 lens and zoomed out to 70mm only to include the distant rock formation against the beautiful Pastel colored sunset. The greenish tint of the water added to the overall effect of the shot. I used the keep it simple principle here.. Is it too simple...

Note: Slide looks identical. No manipulation done in PS to acheive these colors just in case some are wondering

I don't think it's too simple, but perhaps better as part of a series, giving it a bit more context, than as a complete stand-alone shot. The colours are exceptionally beautiful, and it's good to know they are natural, and not a PhotoShop creation.

Patrick, beautiful colours, nice composition, one of those photos where keeping it simple has worked well. Anything extra would have detracted from the scene.

Simple is good. I might have tinkered with panning to the left and right to see if one variation in rock formation versus another made the shot more interesting. I did that to quite a few shots on my trip and it paid off to have the variation. Sometimes you don't realize the difference until you see it later. I think the rock formation on the horizon on the far left is a bit too close to the edge of the frame for my taste, but it's nitpick. If you had panned variations as previously mentioned I think you could see if that type of element added or distracted more clearly. The colors are spectacular and the lighting really accentuates this. I like this quite a bit.

Certainly a very beutiful range of colours with a sympathetic subject.
