Oh Judi, anyone can do "normal" photography (whatever that is, lol). I think many of us look to your work to see images beyond the ordinary. Keep it up. : ) Kurt

Cows with attitude, gotta love that. Most cattle around here just sit in the grass and chew their cud. Cool capture.

Wow, Judi! The cattle down there are as colorful as your birds. It really looks like you sweet-talked these critters into posing for you. : ) I agree with your reply to ken about most of your work being out of the norm. It is. That's what makes it so interesting. I'd love to see more images like this, with local flavor. Kurt

Ok Larry. I will try to explain it all here. Keep in mind I live in the country. Out here it is nothing for highways to be over cattle grids as the cattle do roam within the properties and the highways run throught the properties. It is also quite normal to have to stop every now and again while a large herd of a few hundered or more cattle are shepherded down the highway from one property to another. It is called the long paddock. When there is a lack of food the cattle are moved to another property but allowed to graze the highway sides as they go. So they have a few horseback riders and vehicles following them as they go.
We have a couple of neighbouring towns where the local horses just roam free and a lot of the residents constantly complain because they just wander in and out of their gardens or what used to be their gardens.
Our cattle have attitude and the one standing was a classic example. I was about 5 metres from them and it was constantly growling at me. I have pinned stuck before with my foot in between a bulls horns and an armful of kittens so I didn't need any further indication to stay back....LOL! I have dealt with these animals most of my life and know that they can inflict some damage especially the ones that roam wild. But all the same I loved the colourings of these animals against the beautiful colours of nature.
Hope that answers your questions.

Thanks Den. The beast standing wasn't impressed with me taking their photo. The whole time I was standing their all I could here was this increasing growl coming from him. I didn't stay too long.
