About Our Tuesday jaunt took us from Somerset into Dorset and then on into Wiltshire. The countryside throughout the trip was wonderful. Rolling hills, lush greens, fields divided by hedgerows, thatched cottages, powder-blue skies and fluffy white clouds! Awesome!

This was taken somewhere between Yeovil and Dorchester ~ at least the landscape was. The chopper was taken against a steel-grey sky from Yeovil town centre. It looks much better here!

Catch you later!

Best regards,

Chris

It's a good idea, Merete!
In fact, I had thought about it, noting that there are some quite lengthy shadows on the hedges and trees.
I'm no expert on light, but my guess was that any shadow the chopper would have thrown would probably have been in the dip in the ground that lies between the long grass in the foreground and the line of dark hedges above it.
So I left it!
Took the easy way out, I guess.
Glad you like the image though.
Have a great night out!
Best regards,
Chris

I just thought about something...
I can't tell if you have already done this...but it would be great..if the chopper made a huge shadow on the ground...can't you make that??????????? :-)
Perhaps you have to replace the chopper..
Sorry, if you didn't like my idea...it's not that your photo is bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like it alot...
Hugs

Could have fooled me, Chris! Absolutely beautiful countryside there. I was wondering if you'd taken it from another aircraft!

Excellent freeze. Interesting shot of a lush beautiful landscape, and a cold forboding chopper. Wonderful.

Mind boggling landscape Chris and what a coincidence, I've just posted ashot of a Chinook but not as clearly captured as this. You've made a wonderful montage but I must say that a chopper would upset the peace and quiet of that lvely countryside.

OK Chris, NOW YOUR RUBBING IT IN...rolling hills...lush greens...fields...THATCHED cottages, perfect skies with fluffy clouds........
GGZZZZZZZZZZ!!!

How could you possible go wrong with all this???
I'm so glad to hear the chopper didn't just 'happen to show up' here!! Where is the gull? (maybe he could be perched atop the copter)!!! LOL

BEAUTIFUL PHOTOGRAPH, VERY WELL DONE,
Lori :)

ps..any news about 'R', or he is still waiting for additional tests tomorrow?

ah, so it's a composite? regardless, well executed. Though I'd hav eliked to have seen the chopper shot at a slightly slower shutter speed just to express some of the motion in the rotors.

It does look better here , looks like a gun run on some sheep or something.
Nice shot once this scape turns brown, I ecpect we will see some Tuscany type shots ! What beautiful landscape !!!
