About Took my good friend's D70 down to the seafront at Sidmouth today and gave the Tamron lens a good trial in the murky-grey drizzle!! It worked pretty good!! This shot hasn't been cropped ~ just tilted by a degree to get it straight!!

Thanks, Henry!! I'll look after it!

Best regards to all,

Chris

I have a Tamron 70/300mm, Chris, but I haven't managed to catch a gull like this-(. Nice and sharp. Great capture! Good Work! Larry

Thanks, Michele.
I like them both.
I like the lighter one because it seems a little more alive.
And I like the darker one because that's the kind of day it was and it retains a little more feather detail in the white areas.
Best regards, Chris

Great timing, just getting the lift off, lovely angle, has your friends D70 got extra's like yours ' such as the 'perfect timing for action shots' feature

A beautiful picture Chris, just the right moment in time. All topped off with an excellent presentation. Very nice touch. Don. You must be having withdrawl symtoms from not having your D70. Very nice to have friends.

Thanks, Alastair!
Yes, I'd certainly recommend the D70 ~ in fact, I've been toying with the idea of getting a second one so that I don't have to keep switching lenses!!!
Kind regards, Chris

Very well done Chris!! I've been playing with lenses lately (and thinking about a D70 too... would you recommend it?)...I've yet to get anything this good though.... Great image capturing the moment where gravity is defied and flight begins... Just the right degree of blur on the wings to suggest the action whilst retaining the sharpness of the body. Well done!
