About Another shot from yesterday's jaunt ~ this one has been 'Spracklened'!!

A very famous part of the old town of Shaftesbury, Gold Hill is a very steep hill with a wonderful collection of very old cottages running down one side. Don't look at the one that's second from the left for too long as it will do your head in trying to work out the angles! The fact is, it really is bent out of shape. The hill was used in a very famous TV advertisement for Hovis bread ~ those of you Brits who are my age and older will no doubt remember it!

I'll be back later to leave a few comments. Gotta sign off now as son #1 is desperate to get on line. His band's van blew a head gasket today and they've had to cancel a week's touring / concerts!!

Catch you later.

Best regards,

Chris

Chris; this is a superb composition with wonderful lighting. You're right, with just a casual glance the odd angles are not noticeable, but with some study it does become pretty enigmatic-- but I like it, and glad you explained some of the PS work.

Thanks for comments on my Horse Daisy pic. Cheers. Craig

Thanks for the comment, Merete!

The 'noise' in the sky is due to the combination of filters I've used on this image. For some reason they showed up morer on the sky than on the houses, but it all looks fine on the full-sized version.

Best regards, Chris

Thanks for the comment, Hugo!

Just to say that the sky is not 'pixellated', it's the effect of the 'rough pastel' filter that I applied to the whole image before texturizing it with a sandstone texture! It shows up much better on the hi-res version!

Kind regards, Chris

Hi Chris, The sky looks a bit pixellated..., but I do like the `Sprackling" of this image. Would?ve removed the railing on the left side, too, though. It?ll simplify the composition a bit. Excellent tones, though.

Cheers,

Hugo

Silly houses...especialy the one which is almost cracking... :-)Wonderfull image..great shot.. :-)
I notice the sky..though...something you have made???
It seems abit 'noisy' compared to the clarity of the houses...
Hm.. :-/

Take care..and enjoy your time OFF the computer.. ;-)
Merete
