About I confess!... I enhance the eye's colors a little (just a little!) bit! It's a little far from reality but the visual impact is better (I believe so...)

Bonita foto, Telmo.
Excelente.

I'm so glad that you boosted the saturation on the eye - it makes the photo great. Keep up the slight PS work.

Agree with other commenter that the pixelation is a bit high - it would be a bit better and really killer if you could make out individual strands of hair.

Get a little more sidelight for definition if you want to go that route.

Thank you Telmo - I can see how the eyes would stand out in a larger image, but I agree completely with you that this composition transforms this almost to an abstract and we can concentrate on just the beautiful shapes and, of course, the eye :-)

Telmo Domingues   {K:9639} 10/1/2004
Hi Stephan! Yes, indeed, the original was larger... But even in the original the eyes were special. So I decided to crop it, to give the eyes the inportance they had. Like Carmem says, in a comment above, "it's good to have, nowadays, the technology to transmit more than what our eyes see - regular photographers like us can now speak with the soul..." These were not the exact words but that was the ideia... That (also) why I admire your abstract series in glass refraccion SO MUCH! - that is what your lenses "see" - you have the knowledge to speak with your soul without PS. You're a step ahead!
Hugs dear friend!

Enfim,

Muito bonita esta foto, abraço.

Is it a significant crop from a larger image? I like the flow of the dogs hair punctuated by the blue eye, but I wish in this instance that the hairs were sharper to build that effect more.

Carmem

Hi Telmo, YOU DID WHAT?!?! Outrageous! Unheard of! But since you confessed, I'm willing to overlook it, but only if you agree this is a fabulous shot....:)

I have to concur that the tone is a little far from reality, but then again, I like understatements too. The composition and the close up view of the dog is excellent, though. It works very well for me. I only think it's been zoomed in a bit too far, loosing a bit of quality in the process. the slight texture is a nice touch, though.

Good job, as always.

Cheers,

Hugo

No need for confessions.. I do minor corrections all the time. After all it's the result that counts! And what a result you have hear. A great composition with line between black and white. A great color blue.. Just a great photo.. Well done!
