About Great name for a village, isn't it?! 'Long Load'!! And what a superb little village it is, boasting a number of beautiful thatched houses.

This one was taken in the late evening light ~ hence the light in the windows. They're lovely to look at, but a roof like this would cost around £25,000 to replace and it needs doing around every 25 years!! (That's £1,000 p.a. for your roof!!)

Mind you, if you're a thatcher you could probably afford it!!

Best regards to all,

Chris

I love the way the lighted window adds interest to the image of the cottage in exactly the same way as the similarly coloured parts of the clouds add interest to the sky. Subtle but very effective. Excellent choice of sky! (Unless God got it right by Himself. )

This is a tricky one, Margaret.
Personally, I think I'd feel a bit 'miffed' too!! You would thought the person would at least have acknowledged your help ~ that's just good manners!
What you don't say is whether they reposted your version, or their own reworked version. If it's the former, then it's really bad and might even be worth raising with Altaf. If the latter, then it's just a case of discourteousness and I'd be inclined to let it go.
The other option is to leave a comment on the reposted image, saying how disappointed you are that your input wasn't appropriately acknowledged.
Just a few random thoughts ~ I hope they're a help.
Best regards, Chris
P.S. Thanks for your comment!!

Great compo Chris, I noticed the light straight away, it really adds to the composition.
Excellent work

Chris, can I ask your opinion, I amended an image for someone new to the site, they then removed their original image, and reposted - saying they had changed it in PS. I admit to feeling a bit miffed, am I being over sensitive????

Chris,

Beautiful thatched roofs. They make the house look elegant. Pity they are disppearing in Ireland. The warm light on the windows make the house so inviting. Wonderful image.

well done.
regards,
ken.

That is one big smacker planted right on your cheek!
Thank you for this beautiful, beautiful cottage image!
Love the glow in the windows - you should do this more - without being arrested for acting like a peeping tom!
Great sky - won't mention the climbing roses ... you know I love them so much.
Gor-gee-ous feast for the eyes.
Happy Linn
