thank you so much for your feedback, Gustavo, & for taking the time to look through my portfolio. It's been such a positive experience posting photos on this site, i've learned a lot, & i really appreciate the critiques people take the time to send in - both what does & doesn't work for them. thank you.

thanks for your support, Margaret. Yah, i do know that Tim Schumm guy a little! & he has been a tremendous support & inspiration over the years. It's been great to see how inspiring this site has been for him & how his talent as a photographer has bloomed over the last year or so. That's one of the reasons i finally got off my butt & joined up myself, because of the changes i've seen in his work since he's been involved. Good luck with your own work & have fun! :O)

thanks, Phil. I remember when i was involved in theatre, years ago, & coming upon the understanding that sometimes what speaks the loudest are the moments of silence. I think photographs are the same way - that there can be a lot of power & meaning found in the so-called negative spaces. I think i need to learn to trust that more (in both arenas!).

Lovely soft colours, but I like the other one better. I have read your bio and I couldn't agree more re the 'inspiring and intimidating'. I am a complete amateur and I have gained so much from the site and the encouragement and help from members, but sometimes I think what am i doing putting my shots on, when there are so many wonderful photographers out there. To name one , [who I think you know slightly, hehehehheee] TIm Schumm. His comments have mean't n awful lot to me.

thanks, Gino. I like how your image strongly creates the feeling of the surface of the water while also capturing it's depth. Great shot.

jennifer...

a wonderful photograph. your composition is stunning. the soft pastel colors work so well here. the slow movement of the darker blue to the lighter blue at the top of the image is so beautiful. the amazing stillness of the shot is so peaceful.

thanks, Sean. It was that stillness that i was really drawn to. It seems almost surreal but in fact it's pretty much how i shot it - only a little work in PS.

thanks so much, Marta. I just checked out your site & it's amazing! I really love your florals. I've been submitting photos from my husband's computer because mine's out of order at the moment so i'm using photos i have burned on cds. All my floral photos are stored on my computer & am looking forward to submitting them. I'd really appreciate any feedback you could give me about them as i think your work is really strong & original.
