I definitel prefer the sepia, and I agree with you a little bit that there could be more of a focal point. The lampost is good (would it be possible to place yourself in a position where it wasn't cutting off the tip of one window?) as others have said, but the whole thing seems a bit flat, almost like windows painted on a wall. I wonder if waiting for a person or two to walk by would help give the image scale and maybe a bit of depth.
I have to admit that architectural photos (especially of cool old stuff in a place that actually has some history) is not something I have too much experience with, so I suppose you'd best take any critique I give for what it's worth :-] .. Of course if all you need is an excuse to head out on another shooting trip - by all means, go. Cheers

Great shot Arwa! Was that taking at Old Jeddah? I remember when I was there I have taking several shots a t Suek Area and Qabel Street where Nassif museum exists. A very rich culture in this spot! Cheers & 7/7/.

I think this image is fine as it is, but if you insist on a reason to go back you could try it from the other side, or from straight on. I see each window is different(must have been 5 different builders)

I think the shot is great... taking pictures of old architecture is very tricky.. we have a heritage area just 10 min away from home.. and I once went to my mother's (and grandparents') old home in RAK, took pix of the area which was taken over by indian and pakistani workers... but I almost never get good results..! so I'm in no place to judge here! lol.. I just think its a great shot :)

I agree with Paul & Lori. I like them both, but the original's tones are just so great. The lamp post is a beautiful focus point - that is pulling my eye. I also love the architecture and details on the windows.
Overall, I think this is a great image.

HI arwa,
I've gone back and forth between both of them numerous times. Actually I like them both, maybe the original a 'tad' bit more!
This image also shows perspective (not a bunch, but some) On the sepia one, I think it's a bit too 'hot' in the upper left corner, yet the original one isn't.
Still, nice work, Lori :)

excellent tone..love the architecture.. nice work.. both the original and the enhanced version. I disagree that there is not point of interest.. the lamp post stands out as the subject matter and the rest of the photo adds to the overall balance and mood

I actually like the photo the way it is shot-- and what you did to it in Photoshop has given it more depth and feeling.
