Very nice. Great composition with the dark area seperating the flower from the next bit of bright area on the right. The little bit of grain here works for me too.

Dear femke don?t worry about your English! It?s the second language for both of us! I always photograph in the biggest size and the highest resolution! Never know when I have to print the image!!! Thank you for the tip ;)

With this picture it's difficult, the only thing you can do is make a square of the photo so that you keep a little part of the white flower on the right side. I don't know if you can made your pictures in a higher resolution than 72 because when you want to make a larger one of it you are going to see the pixels. I made them in 300 resolution and after preparing I keep the picture in 200 resolution and 30x21. I hope you understand because my english isn't so good. regards, Femke

While i look deep into this,,, The flower ressemble a potrait. Now your question will be how?... right? Just imagine Yaa you are that flower, in the garden of Usefilm.
Hope you get what I mean,,,, else just forget me,,,

I like your passion for b&w flora (this shot is really nice!), but it's so difficult to see all those beautiful colors and just whipe them away.
I've tried it with the photo you commented on, but I didn't like it.
Regards, Henk-Jan

Thank you laurie :) im glad you liked the tones! i didn?t de-saturate it completely and instead reduced the saturation about 80% because when i de-saturated all the way the gray tones were limited

Thank you femke! As far as crop goes I did crop some space on the left part of the image to move the flower in focus of center that was my main concern and I didn?t notice the size or proportion of the blurred flower in the foreground Any suggestions?

Arwa, It's funny you like the B&W flora so much as I do. This picture is very nice althought I don't know yet if I think the right white part in the picture is too big. But anyway, the composition is very nice and ofcourse the B&W colour, regards, Femke

Cloning out the background or adding the contrast to get that result would change the image completely, maybe your right and it would change it for the better but then the image wont have the depth it has now? What do you think? :)

nice photo Arwa. i liked the shallow DOF and the grainy effect. but if you do not mind , i think the top right portion is little bit distracting, a darker background is preferable. anyway, good work

A lovely black and white flora Arwa, standing there looking somewhat vulnerable...beautifully done. I do like the way it's standing alone, wonderfully composed and beautifully presented, and a very nice dedication too....:):)Linda
