About	This is from a grotto near where I live and I used flash to light the statue in an otherwise dark area. The Angel is looking down onto the alter in a cave within the grotto gardens and the cave itself is at the top of a series of statues representing the stations of the cross. Oh and right on the hill above and behind the cave is some really great mountain biking trails!!!

Anyway, thanks for the comment 's an beagán gaeilge atá agat.

As for doing a series on religious statuaries I'd really recommend using IR film or else putting a red filter over your lens and keeping the camera on full manual (if not a full manual already!). Both have a cool effect on statues especially on bright clear days with blue clouds: statues seem to shine! There's a good article on this photo project in one of the back issues fo Practical Photography magazine if you get it ever.

Well James must go now, got an experiment to keep an eye on beside my PC here. Sure 'tis the joys of bein' a student beGod!

That's about all of the gaeilge I can manage right off the top of my head. I'd have to do some rummaging through An focloir beag to manage much more.

Anyway though...that's a very nice shot. I've been thinking of doing a similar series of religious statuaries. In B&W or maybe ever IR and with the right filters you can get some really neat results. I like this one of yours very much.
