About I had looked out at these four posts sticking out of the sea all week. They were about 300 metres from our penthouse holiday apartment and only 5 metres from the edge of the bay to the left. I kept thinking there must be an image here but I couldn't find it. Then on the penultimate morning of the holiday the wind died just after dawn and the highish tide was still. I used my 200mm lens to segregate the posts from the beach and used a long exposure to remove major ripples. The only digital manipulation is a purple to orange graduated filter that enhanced the reflection of sky at the top and dawn sun at the bottom. The top of the image gives the impression of whisps of cloud in a sky but the clouds are in fact areas of brighter reflection.

Its a masterpiece alright. The way u have shot and thought aboput it is "art divine". There is a philosophy behind every photograph and you have touched "Dante's Peak". Hats off.RD.

Hi Barry, in my belief this picture of yours is a masterwork, the more that your description of the process with which you arrived at it shows the amount of creativity you mustered. This piece imo would be a great achievement in any art form, because for me it breathes east asian equanimity, in my value scale one of the most valuable states to be achieved. It may be a contradiction per se but stumbling across it by chance left me breathless. The beauty of the floating calmness grounded by those heavy posts is just stunning as many of your pictures in your portfolio are. Congratulations to this and your many other wonderful pictures you posted and my admiration for your work. Best regards Jorg
