there are strong overexposed light spot on the peppers disturbing a lot, about composition the full dark background let the peppers be suspended not in real way, some visible plane should help to improve compos, in my opinion

Very striking. I think the highlites are just a bit big. Maybe some tissue over the flash to diffuse would soften the effect.

I think the light is too harsh for such subject. The 5700 is also capable of better sharpness.
