About Yes - they really came from Amsterdam as my flatmate has just returned from there.
I was really playing here - I have no experience of photographing flowers, so will welcome all criticism.

Hi Selina,

I like the composition, it's a good capture of a really nice tulip.
Sometimes it better to use backgrounds to emphasize your object.
But don't mind about a lot, it's your shot, and it's good enough.

regards

Hi guys.

Thanks for the advice. I am not really sure why I kept that background as it was - I don't think I realised how odd it looked. Too busy concentrating on the flower !!

But think the frame improves it immensely.

I have not really photographed flowers before so it is all a learning experience. Hopefully will do much better next time. After all, this is what Usefilm is all about !!

And thank you Pedro for all your lovely comments.

Have a good day everybody !

It is a very beautiful tulip
Colour and lighting is just great. I think it is a shame, though, that you kept the background almost colourless.I think that if you like it this way, maybe you could have added a thin line to frame a background (I've added an example) or if you like, whatever other frame
Nevertheless, a very nice capture, Selina

This viewer happened to comment a moment ago, upon a tulip captured by a Dutch photographer...
This capture is good and the specimin wonderful, but tell me why did you keep the background haze on the top right & bottom left?
