Lovely extreme closeup, I like those never ending variations on the abstract power of nature in close ups. Another great example. Best regards Jorg

I like this Becky. I was just going through pages glancing at thumbnails and this caught my eye. I hadn't even read title when I thought it looked like a fire. I like the composition and it makes for a good abstract as well........Randy

It is a nice little fire you found, or maybe blaze is a better word. Shallow DOF is always an issue but here it is not a detraction despite the fact that there are both foreground and background elements well out of the plane of focus. Maybe it is because the colors are such strong players?

I think the bit of stamen and petal protruding through and out of the yellow heart make a good resting place for the eye - saving us from total overload. Good title. I would perhaps crop from the left and remove some of the dead space there...

exellent shot, beautiful tones, it's really like fire... As for DOF, well I own some teleconverter, extensions tubes and other 'adaptors' and your problems are the same as mine...

I love the way my eyes are on a rollercoaster here... swirling from one petal to the other. I think that compositionally this is fantastic (wish I had seen it!) and the colour combo really adds power. The darkness of the stamen helps to ground the eye as well, when you've had enough swirling! The reds seem really heavy to me, though, almost a matte-finish, which opposes the light, airy feeling of this image. Truly a fantasically unique floral!
