Now comming to your querry, 'air striae' - I am just currious. What do you actually mean by 'striae'. What realy happens?
After reading Barry's comment, I am kind of thinking there is more to the subject than what it seeems.

This is a superb shot, the combination of the colours and the whispy clouds is perfect. When you say air striae, do you mean atmospheric turbulence? If so, as an astrophotographer, the way to deal with this is to take several shots and average them - try taking at least 9 shots which will reduce noise/variations by a factor of 3 or 16 shots for a factor of 4, etc. However, unless the shots are taken in rapid succession you will cause other problems in the clouds, etc.

Hello Gerhard,
this is a great sunset image indeed. Taken with 800 mm tele (500 mm + 1,6 for digital...)it is simply wonderful. Ofcourse you have taken it with a tripod... Just be careful not to burn the chip in the camera or damage your eyes by looking streight into the sun.
Keep up the good work and immer Gut Licht.
