Well, if it were "trouble", we surely wouldn't do it ! I rather see this as a way to start to understand something about landscape photography... Cheers.

I must say, i appreciative of the in depth comments here. It is impossible to see my work objectively as I was there and saw this as an entire piece. The highlights int he sky are partially a result of me not doing enough work and partially the range of contrasts in the image - high contrast is one of the failings of digital. The other part of this is that I just let myself shoot what i feel and when i look at it later - work on and present what strikes me. To repeat the landscapes that would be easy to look at and make what others have already made goes against my grain. I struggle with the converntional wisdom and I have no artistic training. Colorado skies are not the thing most people are used to. Boulder is just 20 miles from thje divide and presents a situatio that produces other worldly images - they challenge my eye as i look at them and forcve me to see things coherentltly while the skie forms unbelieveable colors and designs. Some look like there must be a terrible wind and there isn't. I will post one like this. I appreciate all the trouble you went to to share your in sights.

Greg, I agree with some others that this landscape is strong, and gets better the longer you look at it. Perhaps that is because there are many elements, but each fits into some meaningful unity that reaveals itself with contemplation. My only difficulty is that the darker area on the left side of the image loses enough detail as to weigh down the image slightly. I'm growing to hate my own crop suggestions, but I'm compelled to ask if you tried cropping this image ever so slightly on the left?

I think you really have a point, here, Max... I don't know all that much about Greg's work (yet), but what strikes me is that Greg rarely goes (so far) for the expected composition. Maybe Greg can tell me if I'm off here, but that was my first general impression. And each time, it still works in the end, though I have some adaptation problem with your work, Greg...:-) In a way it's a very good thing, because it's certainly a more original landscape photography than I am used to on such sites. I think I'll need time and to see more works before I can come to any general conclusion, but what's pretty sure, is that Greg has his own style... Great ! Regards.

Have you painted it your self? ; )
A very dreamlike shot, wich confirms the importance of light when you shoot. Keep it up.

I agree on the visual focusing..But if anyone who knows your work, will just breathe for a moment. Then everything will come into perspective. I can smell the water and feel the grass you were standing on!
Share a little on the type of circular polarizer please...

This picture is of course very nice, but I must say it was a bit difficult to access at first. I see this shot as 2 bright stripes (sky & water) and 2 dark stripes. Basically, the composition is quite a challenge at first site, and the eye is a bit confused as for where to go - finally it goes mostly to the water, I guess... But after about 1 minute looking at it, somehow the geometry of it started to make sense and unity reappeared. Strange experience. Anyway, great light and colors here, and for the composition, it finally works - I don't know whether there was a better one because I don't know this place...:-) So, another very good shot. Regards.
