About The following wind fills the sheets and the boat starts to hum. There is nothing more exilerating than planing down the face of blue water waves.
When working on this image I was listening to that old Crosby Still Nash song "Southern Cross." As a Northen Hemisphere native now living in New Zealand I relate to the line "When you see The Southern Cross for the first time, you understand why you came this way."

Happy New Year and may the Universal Truths become apparent to all.

Thank you for your comment and message Yo. They say that the creator moves in mysterious ways and the older I get the more I believe that is so.

The image you are looking at is New Zealand Bull Kelp (Sea Weed) I was standing on a cliff edge overlooking the sea and was fascinated by the shapes of the Kelp as the waves moved in and out. From there a slow shutter speed and a few test exposures later this is the result.

Once on the computer screen I was drawn in by the movement and the CSN song did the rest.

Regards John

Your images and philosphy are inspiring. Always great to find others on the path with such positivity. Pity my path took me in the opposite direction: i now live in the north and do miss that ole southern cross. This photo is one of my favourties. I must admit i am dying to know what i am looking at tho? any clues? water and..?

An excellent abstract John. I love the movement, color and especially the composition of this image. Artfully done. By the by, I can't ignore images from someone who cites both CSN and the Gormenghast Trilogy, both favorites of mine! Regards. -Tim

Gorgeous shot - sometimes yellows have a negative conotation for me but this one does - not it is warm and beautiful and works well with the mood of the line quoted from Crosby Stills Nash...
