Hi Jeff - The star-field is an actual photo from Yale Univ. that I have increased the contrast and gamma on (and for some of the brighter, larger ones I add a halo in PhotoPaint)! When the pic is then reduced (to about 15% of the original size) down to JPG the smaller stars begin to "drop-out" and/or become dimmer just like real stars. The number of stars and their relative brightness will vary depending on the atmospheric conditions of the planet or moon the shot is on. Of course - in real life you would not be able to see any but the very brightest stars when you had a bright landscape or planet in the view (your eye just couldn't discern that brightness range all at the same time). Thanks much for the comments!

Hi Jason - Neither, I use PhotoPaint 9 (Corel) for all my touch-up and color-corrections, etc. Thanks for the kind comments!

Great feel to this one Frank. The harsh landscape was a good choice for the huge planet in the background and I love the sense of scale and depth imparted by the aircraft and the figures. Nice work!

I have a question about the stars. Do you have any particular method for taken some of the sharp detail out of them as not all stars we see look sharp. (possibly with the exception of those with access to mount Palomar or the Hubble telescope) 8> I have tried this using gaussian blur or motion blur without success.

Cheers!
Jeff
