Thanks a lot to Sue,Vincent and Petra,I have considered cropping to a vertical format. In fact,I took this picture outside the shop(I worried about the salesman would be mad at me,since I bought nothing there).I regret I didn't buy shoes very much:(,they are so lovely!I guess I have no chance to visit Amsterdam for a while. I was quite excited when I got your comments, thanks again!
Yay, a picture of a Dutch souvenir shop! What a nostalgic feeling. I walk on wooden shoes once or twice a year and believe me, they're not comfortable, LOL! Great picture. I agree with the cropping suggestion. Oh, and just in case someone thinks we Dutch still wear wooden shoes, no, only in the yard, sometimes.
From the thumbnail, I did not think I agreed with Sue's crop. But after looking it over more closely, I do now agree with it. While the flowers add a nice touch in the original, the cropped really emphasizes the shoes...what a display! Nice shot.
Lovely colors, Vivien, and I like the concept. Good eye!
I think a polarizing filter to remove the glare would have helped this image a great deal. Have you considered cropping to a vertical format so that the frame is filled with tall racks of shoes? I think the register counter and the sizing rack is distracting. Hope you don't mind, I did a "quick and dirty" edit. If you think it looks bad, please ignore me.
