To me, the best thing about this picture is the size of her pupils and the glint, I don?t see that very often in portraits and I think it gives a lot more emotion to a portrait. 1/45 @ f/3.5 under room lighting... I?d almost like to see a similar photo without the guitar. The one thing is the shallow depth of field on this one that your getting with f/3.5... I understand under the lighting conditions you had to go wide open on that, but I?m wondering how that same shot would have looked at more extreme settings like a higher iso and smaller apt like f/8 to get the guitar in focus, sure, it would have had more grain but nothing that couldn?t be removed in photoshop. But as it stands I like the composition the way it is. The title is very creative and I think her eyes/size of her pupils really make this a fantastic shot!!!
Off topic, Congrads on the canon 300D upgrade, enjoy, did someone leak information on your Christmas gift? :-) And as far as your comment on my frost picture, well it took about an hour in the blistering cold and 256k of pictures to decide on that one. I?ve seen others on here that appear to be photoshoped off of lab grown ice crystals but mine is actual. Word of advice, get up EARLY, dress WARM and use a TRIPOD! Ice crystals grow the best on flat surfaces. They look the best on something like flat black paint... clear or reflective surfaces are way too difficult to get an accurate focus lock on. Just wanted to share that with you, hope it helps. Love your work, keep shooting! -Mike

Great composition and perspective Dan. The way the strings of the guitar are pointing at the model's expressive eyes is very beautiful. Excellent lighting and DOF. Perfect and wonderful work....Best regards Harry
