Ursula,

This is beautiful, a wonderful composition and excellent control of tones. The comp - I have to say it again is wonderful.

I don't think I've seen portraits by you - if this is a good example of your work - I would like to see more. It reminds me of some work by Ulf Fagelhammar.

BTW - it is ironic but the heart pictures preceded any knowledge of my Dad's condition.

An effective informal portrait . . . even without showing the eyes.

Bellissimo ritratto e bella l'idea. Finalmente un po' di allegria. Peccato non vederle gli occhi ma si possono immaginare. Ciao cecilia

My favourite type of portrait, the sponanteous. This is so wonderful Ursula, lovely tonings.

Thank you for your great observations on my last photo. No there was no conscious effort to make him appear as an 'old masters' style portrait. It was a happy discovery...he came armed with his 'props'...one a reading lamp. He desired an image of him with lamp, reading...he chose a book from my 'library' and funny enough it's 'Anne of Green Gables' he is reading, a Canadian classic.;) I am off to buy a lamp like his...I loved the effect.:) Need to try it with my 5050 though.
