This was taken during the setup of a light show for a party given at the Milwaukee Art Museum for the 2002 MLB All-star game. Normally the movable winged roofline is closed at night. The wings open in the morning as the museum opens and the wings fold closed as the the museum closes for the evening. The wings are open at night only during special events.www.mam.org (The original slide has the full left wing somehow it was cropped in scanning. I will rescan and replace when I have the chance)
I have been to Milwaukee several times. I have an old friend who lives there. Nice shot! I have steered clear of this museum because I am not really a fan of modern art and such---but this is pretty cool.
The lightning pic---5 second exposure...my wife and I were sitting in the middle of a storm and it was all around us. I have captured 5 strikes...the other 4 are not even close to this one. This was a stunner...
kekekeke---forget the bridge comment! You said what was right! I am not one to take offense...ya did well! I was born in Gary, Ind and I have been to Chicago a zillion times...and I mis-wrote. You did what I would have done---ya made a correction. (I did slip in and fix the "Sharp" post though---) You were right. Not a problem. I did not look at it as being a smart ass remark---it was direct and factual.
Jim (oh--just a suggestion----this would still work if you cropped it a bit lower and tighter to the right wing...and you could still leave the left wing tip missing...would give it a sense of life---on-going, something outside the frame.)
