Very crisp. That lovely three masts is very much at odds with the surrounding modern buildings. And yet all share the same clean beauty and presence. Well seen and rendered.

Hi Ursula, perfect overall.
Best regards.

Very well done! Was the B&W the result of a camera control or done later with a imaging program?

Ironically, to me the leaden sky and sepia tone seem more suggestive of Autumn than August. But that's neither here nor there. What really works is the sharp definition of this scene and the contrast between this replica of the Age of Exploration and the reality of the ubran, industrial world that has followed in it's wake. A reality that is underscored by a construction crane which echoes the Bounty's mast and rigging, but which is clearly built on an altogether different scale. --jim

Perfect Composition Ursula. I am truly amazed, why? It seems that this image is a cross between the 21st century and 18th century era, The image looks old with the use of a great sepia color combined with that sail boat in a bustling city with great skyscrapers. Excellent Job all elements and aspects of this image was well defined and presented. I love this photo

Thank you all for the kind comments! I've had this pict around for a couple months, but in colour, and never really liked it. Today I thought I'd try it in b/w, and I think it turned out OK. I love Chicago, it's a beautiful city (but it has too many bricks :))

This is a sensational image. The sky, the contrast between old ships and skyscrapers and the overall sharpness make this a memorable photo.

Really nice and crisp shot, Ursula! The tones are just wonderful, and I love the clash of eras between the old sailing ship and the modern skyline. Great sky, too - nice work!
