Thank you for the detailed info. Obviously you are a pro and since this is a learning site, it's nice when people actually leave information on how a particular photo was taken.
Kenneth Kwan, as an example, does a wonderful job of providing relevant information.
To answer the question about the details of how this image was done, is as follows.
The merchandise is sitting on a sheet of sheet metal about 4 feet wide and 3 feet deep which is on top of a table which is 29 inches off the floor.
I have one light to the right of the set and one on the left. Both are speedotron 102 heads with 11 inch reflectors. The one on the right is aimed just left of the center and the one on the left is aimed just right of the center of the white seamless background. They are both running at 800ws each, and they are about 6 feet from the background as well as the merchandise. Above the right side of the set, toward the front, about 6 feet high is another speedotron 102 head with a small softbox running at around 300-400ws. On each side of the merchandise are black cards the full length of the merchandise, just outside of the crop. The card on the right is pulled further back from the merchndise as not to block the light overhead. They are used to allow the edges of the glass items to become darker and help give the items shape and form. This is also the purpose of the light above the set and to the right, so that it adds dimension to the glass items giving them shape and form. Since the sheet metal is relective, the back edge blends into the white background with the right exposure. There are no other light sources or reflectors used in this image. The only photoshop work done was to crop the image, color correct it and add some contrast.
I hope this is of some help to others wanting to learn.
I like the color and smooth shadow transition and the design element of an odd number of objects. I would like more information behind this photo. For example, how was the reflection created (Plexiglass? - clear or mirrored?) What was the lighting configuration (softbox on right and strobe with snoot from above?
Greg...I think there are quite a few photographers here at Usefilm who like to learn from other's photos, and some technical detail would be wonderful.
