Hi, Kurt..yup, this is more or less the grain i would have if i reduced my images to UF size..Very interesting what you said about getting this one printed and getting a clean print. Thanks for the reassurance! The only thing that bothers me about printing from the negative is not having a chance to adjust contrast and levels first..but it's quite possible that the scan has affected those characteristics as well as the grain and that the negative might be much better than the scan. In the end, scanning out own negatvies is the way to go. This is such a nice image. Bono looks like a wonderful friend and i love the grain! take care: kat~

Excellent portrait of your friend, Kurt. Great lighting and his face is very impressive. Thank you for your comment to my dance serie. I use Photo Shop. At first you must select figures of dancer with Lasso Tool. Then Select(from top bar)- Inverse (in this case selection will change from figures to all backgroung around them). Then chose Filter - Blure (any of them: Gaussian, Motion or Radial) and start one after another, what better to this pose. One advise, when you did selection first time, save it Selection-Save selection, then you don't need do selection every time again and again. Next time you can just Load selection and your selection will come to you, as you save it. There is a lots of small details, but you can recognice them later. For example, you will need blure lines aroud figures, but it's different story. If you will have a problem, ask me again, I will be happy to help you. Regards, Lena

Very nice dog portrait, Kurt, and a beautiful dog, too. THe b&w works well and you've used the DOF very well to get his eyes and nose in focus but blur the background. Thanks much for your comments on my photo, too.

Groetjes, Anouschka

Groetjes, Anouschka
