Taking in the "Big Reed field reserve" in the Antwerp Petro-chemical industries.
Typical Belgium politics! They are using a lot of farm and nature land to build an extension of the Antwerp Chemical industries and harbor. Because of European rules, they have to compensate this lost of value landscape. What they did is a nice piece of nature surrounded by petro-chemical plants became a reserve. Main reason: this land is to wet and instable to fit some industry on. That?s why it is left alone but surrounded by chemical plants and depots. Now, put the name ?reserve? on it and everybody is happy. The European law, the nature conservation societies (because it could be worse) and the main one, the industries. After all it is not the government, but the big money flow (industries groups) that dictates the rules in this world.
