Hi Christian,
Lovely composition and very nicely taken.
My personal preference is to leave the space at the top as is, to my eye, it gives the flower 'space' and adds to the overall composition. The red dot on the bottom can be easily cloned.

Patricia

Nice to hear that you like it :)

BTW: thanks for your comment on my "The end ...". A very interesting interpretation! The picture is rather dark. But so is life; the bright areas/spots are very few. One of them is hearing from you :)

Okay, thank you Elisa. I can see what you meant and your preference for tight framing. I like it very much.

Elisa, thanks for your suggestion, but it seems your proposed image did not upload. If you still have it, could you retry ?
As for the red spot at the bottom, what I think I'd do is rather stamp it out than crop the image.

Christian, this is beautiful, nice background and your presentation is excellent. Very good work. Don.

Christian, this is a flower shot with a difference. I like how the presence of the flower is suppressed by the heavy leaves at the bottom, yet it manages to shine through thanks to its colour that is in strong contrast both with the leaves and with the background. Talking of background, the DOF is fantastic. The composition is good with the flower and the leaves (more or less) in the thirds, therefore I would hesitate to do any cropping other than the barest minimum required to remove the red spot at the bottom. I think a plain black frame would work better (while retaining the inner glow).

Well, I have to agree with Elisa about cropping off the red spot on the bottom, I missed it. However, the rest is fine, I don't think that cropping off the top will improve the shot. Just subjective opinion.

On my taste the original composition looks better, its well balanced in terms of subjects placement and densities. Great job.

Hmmm ... I don?t see anything in the attached "image". I?ll try once again. Anyway, I?d cut a bit at the top and a tiny bit at the bottom to cover the red spot.

Excellent composition! Very beautiful. The only thing I would change a bit is the cropping. What do you think about my attached suggestion?
