A great first effort Jim. For beauty photography, I try to avoid poses where there appears to be muscular tension...and you model seems to be holding her head at an odd angle. Also, if the model is "plus" sized, its best to rotate the arms in such a way to minimize their size in the photo. Lastly, most people in these forums will scold you for cutting off fingertips, etc. Nice balance of high key light with great detail in the model's face. Keep shooting!
Your model looks like she has a beautiful face, but the pose you have her in puts a lot of emphasis on her chest, which is not so flattering here. I wish I could help you with the scanning, but I have no clue either.... For your first shoot, I think you've managed well, but there is room for improvement. One thing that I noticed right away was that her face was a different shade then her body. This is probably just lighting, but with a high key image like this I would think that it's better to have even lighting throughout.
