Available window light only. I shot this half an hour before sunset, when the light was low and warm, but not yet orange. I took many shots over three evenings before I got just what I wanted, since I had only about a two-minute window of opportunity with the light.
One of the biggest goals in photography for me is to attempt to capture the atmosphere and evoke a mood and emotion on film. Which is not often easy, but this is exactly what you have done here. This is a excellent image on all accounts. compositon, lighting, shadows and angle.
Greg: This is Volume 26 of the Encyclopedia Brittanica. It has a pretty good treatment on photography, although nothing on digital since this set is about 15 years old (but who cares, this is useFILM.com, right?).
