About Forest fires make for amazing light. This was taken last night when the sun poked thru the smog from the fire.

thanks for all the comments. I shot this at the new 'dock' area I built this spring down at the bottom of the front yard. The attached photo is the project half completed. It will be a great new shooting area.

The image does have an almost surreal glow about it great use of your surrounding light! I feel like something is "off" in the dark area where it meets her arm. Maybe from compression? This definately has an older era feeling to it I hope you got some close ups of her in this light also.

WOW! If you had not commented on the source of lighting, I'd sware it was done in a studio with old time movie lighting. This is a really unique photograph. Very well done, I have nothing to ad critically or otherwise.

Very original idea.

Great Light Tone, seems a magic place.

Yes, it is odd, that it looks like a 50s glamour shot, but was taken by the light provided by a couple of thousand trees going up in smoke! Lets hope your normal lighting is provided by less dramatic means!

If this was b/w, it would be a throw back to 40s glamour. Lovely shot, and makes you dream.
