Thanks for commenting Roger.The very shallow DOF was intended to blur out the background building and heighten the ominous mood-it rained hard just after I took this shot!As for the 1.7 and 4.000 of a sec.that combination was the result of the luminosity of the lense and the need to reduce DOF.By the way, the term Pancake lense refers to the very small dimensions of the lense-thin and very light like a pancake.
