Found this angel in a nearby cemetary. I liked her posed, but decided to crop in as close as possible to capture exactly what you see. I decided to convert in Photoshop to grayscale, as she simply looks better, and makes us focus more on her, than the green trees, blue sky, etc. Think I'll give my little digital a rest and go back to my N80 :)
I like the cropping. It gets to the heart of the sculptor's (and the photographer's) intent to capture a sense of tranquility and grace. Black and white to me is a kind of distillation effect in a visual kind of way. I'm glad you chose it to be this way.
I like the tight crop and the b&w. Black and white tends to focus the viewer's mind more on composition and texture, and here those are top notch. It also takes the realistic warmth from the photo, making the stone "feel" cold. The lack of a blue sky and other color also removes it a step from reality. Nice work.
