Wolf, When I was 10 my little sister who was 7 died on Christmas Eve. I am now 50. I have never forgotten that day. It will be with me always. I often tell people who are close to me that I have scar tissue on my emotions because of that incident. Yet, we live and we love and we grow old and one day we die. No matter the feeling now, there is always and forever, a part of us, a deep part, that has feelings for things others will never know or understand. You may write to me here: kidney_pie@hotmail.com Often... we have no feelings because we do not want to share our innermost feelings. The feelings are there. They are memories and moments. Drop me an email. We can talk more.

Jim, yes I understand.
Do you mind if I ask you a question ? At home it was a unsafe place in my childhood. Emotional negelectance by my parents. So I stopped feeling emotions at age 13. 3 years ago I had psychotherapy to enable me to feel all emotions again. Personality disorder. I have been hiding 35 years or so. An the overwhelm me. Part due to post traumatic stress. Now the psych I see has no advice at all :( so may I ask you to discuss this with your wife ?
Any advice to tame those overwhelming feelings is welcome because they ruin my life. PTSD.
Thanks in advance. Uhhhh, I may consider become republican then ;-)

She is far, far, far better than I deserve. I don't tell her often enough how much I love her. She is the reason our children have done well. She is a teacher. She teaches students with emotional and physical handicaps. Mary Margaret. I do not know what I would do without her.
