Dear Margaret. how nice of you to comment on one of my images. it really is good of you to post such a constructive critique. This has helped me enormously to realise where I am going wrong. Perhaps I could visit you with a view to finding something bigger. the bigger the better ..thats what I say. If you don.t mind I could bring my friends Kevin Temple and Keith Saint who are both members on this site although they are not very good photographers. I look foreward to hearing from you. what you don't realize is that the woodpecker is the size of the nail on your index finger. It was so dark the lens was wide open @f4 and used at iso.800. I simply use the lenses I don't make the although I would say that combination was outstanding given the circumstances.

A couple of things Danny, the overall composition is nice, but the detail and noise does not stand up considering the lens and body combo you are using.

Excellent capture of this guy, Danny! Great colour, detail and the dof is perfect to show him off against the background. Dave.
