Chris, Good to hear from you. now that you mention it the two flowers do blend together to much. I have to teach myself to be more aware of whats around (in front and behind of) the focal point in a photo. as far as clarity and depth goes this scan doesnt do the print much justice still trying to figure that one out.
Hi Richard, As I'm starting to try some flower shots myself, this one was of interest. I see it as a "nice" shot, but not a stunning one. I think the lack of separation between the two flower heads causes a loss of impact. I always find yellow a difficult colour to get any depth or clarity with - not sure why that is, but yellow flowers always seem to blur together somewhat. I like that the picture has an environmental nature - the leaves and stems and the background DOF'ed out like this give me as a viewer an impression of where the flowers are. I think the DOF'd out flowers on the right clutter things up a little and could have been done without. Best wishes, Chris
