I understand about shotting Osprey's on an overcast day. It is really hard to get much seperation from the white of their heads and the overcasted BG. You have managed to pull it off quite splendidly. Your Verticle composition is SPOT on. I love the way the green of the pine needles contrast with the BG. The parts I love the most of this shot are the EYES and the tack sharp details of everything. Gives off an awesome high key type image. Well done

Nice capture of this beautiful bird - I love to hear them in the early mornings of which we have none here but it was my favorite sounds in Fl.

Thanks Phil. It is definitely a crop. One of the beauties of the 5D and the 300 2.8 is that you can crop very deep and still have good detail. His beak and talons are a good indication that he is a competent fisher.
