Out of date? Why that? It is rather timeless, I would say, in its aged but still so strong look and composition. The texture of the old wood is still there - perhaps even stronger - under the sepialook and the vertical stripes, that agree so well with the general orientation of your main object. I think that such simple compositions with a good DoF are quite the best for suggestive thinking, even if that thinking goes about everything and nothing at the same time. Much like sitting somewhere at the table, looking the old chair, and thinking of simply nothing particular.
