And worth every single scratchy, flat, hissing second...
"I'm gonna rock it up! I'm gonna rip it up! I'm 'onna shake it up! I'm 'onna break it up! I'm 'onna lock it up!... tonight!!"

It is interesting... there are a lot of alternative rock bands releasing on vinyl today. A few years back I bought a copy of Everclear's "World of Noise" on vinyl from some nice bloke in London. The record was made in 1993. And yes, you are right. The large album cover art was as important as the music... and liner notes... we are getting old.

78 means 78 revolutions per minute. Most of the vinyl we know as records are 33 1/3 revolutions per minute. The last 78 rpm records were made in the late 1950's. Welcome! And thanks for dropping a comment!!

Love the image and miss vinyl or bakelite or whatever too, especially the larger album size covers where you could fit a real piece of art on there. Regards, Gary

Rip it up indeed! I like the way you've captured the movement here, and B&W suits the image well.
But 1959 was EVEN BETTER!!!
AJ
PS. I have a little box produced by Creative that plugs in between my record player and a USB port, so I am slowly transferring my records to digital also.

Thanks for the comment! Actually, this is before vinyl. A few years before what we call "records." This disc is VERY hard and brittle. But the music on it is wonderful.
