Thanks, Gary. Yes, that is a function of the tone mapping... it seems to have a problem with consistent lighting as it crosses something like the branches or wires, etc. I am trying to figure out a way to keep that very minimal while tone mapping but I have as yet succeeded in coming up with a recognizable recipe...
I agree, it is a flaw in this shot.

Great shot, Dave! Great colours and an interesting foreground. One minor inconsistency seems to be just to the right of the 2 dead trees that stick up past the mountain horizon. On both cases there seems to be a distinct break in the pink colour from one side to the other. I am just wondering if that is a function of HDR processing? Still a wonderful image. Cheers, Gary
