Very moody composition Dave, fine perspective, fine colours and detail. Nice place, nice presentation. Warm regards, Srna

As you know, I use a very simple softward program. I just created a separate copy of the photo and darkened it, then layered the original over that and used selective layering to make transparent just that parts I want to show through. No noise problem. As for the bubble level, it does nothing to interfere with your viewfinder. You set up your camera on the tripod, check your level, then look through the viewfinder. If you're not using a tripod...shame on you!

Thanks, Michele... as you probably saw, Shirley caught me on tilt... see what I mean when I say I always have that problem?

Shirley, I always use adjustment layers and did so with a selective layer over the sky portion. I just went back to my original and adjusted the levels again. The noise problem appears.
as for the bubble on the hot shoe, how do you use the viewfinder and watch the bubble?? I use the guides in my viewfinder but, as you pointed out, it's not always a sure thing with an uneven terrain.

Layering will keep you from the noise problems with the sky. As for the tilt, I used to have a lot of trouble with that, but bought a bubble level that goes in my hotshoe...no more crooked horizons.:)

Thanks Shirley. I had already brought that sky out quite a bit and started running into noise problems. I totally missed the white post, it was only after I posted it that I realized somebody would say it was a distraction. and, as for my horizon.... well, you continue to make fun of the handicapped... this old war injury that made my left leg 6 inches shorter continues to haunt me to this day... LOL

A beautiful scene, Dave, but needs some help...hope you don't mind. I've layered to bring out the sky and background hills, and cropped out that distracting lighter post on the left. Also straightened the horizon.:)
