Muchas gracias por el comentario bonito, Alicia! Espero que no sólo la flor era muy bonito, pero también la imagen de la flor, que por supuesto es muy diferente el resultado de la flor en sí! ;-)
As it is a very old series, I doubd my own taste of those times, Dave. It looks to me that I would prefer a bit of more extened DoF and perhaps a bit of a closer zoom today. Oh well, taste changes like anything.
Yes, Gustavo, that's the point! Fractals, and self-similarity which lead us to the point of non-integer dimensionality. Strange enough to know about four-dimensional spacetime in GR, exciting enough to know about possibly compactificated dimensions - at least eleven of them in string theory. But it goes much further!! An object with 3.5 dimensions? I'm going out of my mind... *8-D
The real beauty of nature is not discovered in a sentimental way. It is discovered in a mathematical way. It says what we "like" when we see objects with broken dimensionality, like for example flowers, landscapes, clouds, trees, and the like.
