An overwhelming comment, dear Luis, that leaves me almost speechless. You have no idea how much impact your words have on me. Minimalist, softly (like you) perfect by the tones, excellent composition.... With you my dear Annemette sometimes the words are not enough and other times is the fault of my bad english .-
In that way Patrick have a great advantage...but the feels don't need words, are THERE....!!!!!!!!
In spanish I can write a book of your photos and about your art, and the ideas about the life...but I'm an ignorant and I can found the words to show my affectionate and my emotion about your photos...all of them.- Be sure about my feelings.- Kisses and warmest cheers to you.- LUIS THE OLD GRUMPY (like my friend Txules call me LOL ...:):):)

I know you´re a tropical mernmaid, dear Michele:-) I too enjoy warm weather and miss it so often here in Denmark:-( Still I also enjoy when the snow arrives because it makes the scenery so magical and silent, it´s almost like walking out through the closet and arrive to Narnia:-) Take care X

I knew you would, Crow;-) I´m merely saying that if the same photographers had taken photos of people from today working in a modern environment they probably wouldn´t have been as recognized as they are now. The old feel to an image and this fascinating rustic, soulful and also rough environment seem to inspire us modern people;-) Maybe they used big formatcameras but the people and surroundings often seem to fade out, be blurry maybe due to the avaiable equipment in the darkroom and also time?

Hmmm... I must disagree in part, Annemette. For one, the 'quality' of many images from 100 years ago is far superior to those made today, because the photographers were using large format cameras and huge glass plate negatives. I know what you mean about the romance of the 'lost world', but Emerson would have been a name photographer in any era. He had a capacity to render landscapes on film that bordered on the magical...

I checked him out and I especially like some of the photos from the marshes. I see what you mean in terms of the melancholic atmosphere, and he also has a wintertree:-) I cannot help but think though that we sometime love all the old photographers because they portrayed a world that no longer exists. Often the photos aren´t that great and for natural reasons the quality was very different, but we love them for their mood, for the lost time, for the melancholy. I´m sure that taking photos now from workplaces and people will also be something that will be portrayed as something fantastic 50 or 100 years from now. Thanks a lot for your support, dear Crow and also for giving me a chance to get to know various photographers. X

I don't do it to be nice, I say these things because they're true! Check out Emerson's work if you can and you'll see what I mean.

I did think of naming it melancholic, so you read my thoughts, Patrick. There is always something sad yet beautiful about a winterlandscape where fog, snow and the sun fights for the right to display the bare trees. I´m proud to have it as your favourite- thanks:-)

Yes... a wistful, melancholic gem, Annemette. Straight into my Annemette top 10. I love the sun that's struggling to break through, the brightness of it contrasts so well with the beautifully uniform tones in the rest of the image.
Deserves an award, this... which will no doubt mean it won't get one. Whenever I really like a photograph on Usefilm, this inevitably means not many other people do. I hope this proves to be an exception to that rule. 7++++++++++++ and a favourite.
