About And another one of the survival kit, for which I was very grateful. This time with a reduced color palette and trying to focus as good as possible on the small wine bottle, which I didn't manage to do perfectly. But still I find the arrangement not so bad, and so I post it. I'd be gateful also for any comments.

Well, Doyle, I think we do think alike, and I also think that many other people do share the same thoughts considering such subjects.

I do wish we'd kick it together some day - and not as far in future! Despite the difficulties is has to be done.

Ciao,

Nick

Dude, we really MUST 'kick it' together some time! We think very much alike . . . sorry to tell you! :)

Hi Andre!

Quite what I think about that kind of images. And perhaps it is an overreaction of mine against that "spectacularity" when I concentrate on such images in recent times. I can't do other than to totally agree with you when you say that more appreciation for this kind of image (not my image but this kind of image) should be.

On a side note, such things, like a beer or even a cigarette, that are not healthy from the pure "physical" point of view, turn to be the small joys that, as you very well say, make life tolerable. And so the question seems to be, considering also the more spectacular images that also say something about wishes, what is the perpective that we see life from? There is the possibility of course to wish it "perfect" and "spectacular" and all the other things, but there is also the possibility to consider it as is. I find the latter more interesting with all its "imperfectness" exactly because it seems more real to me.

Cheers and thank you very much again!

Hi Nick,
I would say this is a good image of the kind we were talking about earlier. The type where beauty is not always seen in spectacular florals and landscapes, but in the every day pleasures that make life tolerable.
There simply must be more appreciation for this kind of image here at Usefilm. I know you feel the same way as I do on this topic.
Very well presented Nick.

Well, I don't know if it is already too blurry, Andras. I have the impression now that my DoF was too selective and so only the bottle appears sharp enough, but the other things of the survival kit should also be in focus, as they belong to the "set".

But thanks a lot for the nice comment!

Cheers,

Nick

Really good selective focus which makes the image look like a bit blurry, but I think the wine bottle is sharp enough.
