About Under a fog shrouded full moon, this "yard art" sits drenched in moisture. The interior was lit with a lantern during the exposure and I illuminated the lights with a small flashlight.

This is the "less artsy" part of this guy's yard. I'll post a picture of the rest of it. I'm sure the neighbors don't put this guy on the Christmas block party list.

Thanks, Gary... never heard of that movie..but then I'm not a movie goer.

My hope with the fog was that the light would "glow" more... but it didn't.

Best wishes,
Dave

I like that technique Dave, you really try hard to...make these cars be in life again...hehehe....original lighting conditions especialy the way on the interior, excellent shot.

Your recent car wreck shots always remind me of a 70's movie called "The Cars That Ate Paris" (it's an Aussie movie, don't know if it reached the US). Anyway, the cars come to life and extract a bloody revenge on the people who dumped them. For this reason, I don't think the interior is too brightly lit. It's simply the evil life force bringing it back to life.
Regards, Gary

Golly, Dave...

Ummm... I don't think you need to find anything to jump off of, and naturally I don't blame myself for gently (in a language you are not familar with) giving a little criticism...

Let's just put this behind us, shall we???

~LOL~

No worries, Ani... I wouldn't hold it against you. I'm not that kind of person. I welcome constructive criticism. It's just a foto. And I'm just a fotografer. I wouldn't let something like that bother me, honest.

Now excuse me, I have to go find a tall mesa to jump off of... but don't blame yourself.

hahahah.

Hate you Ani? I don't think so... but to save my poor tired fingers from falling asleep even worse than they are... I direct you to my response to Joggie... or... the short version... I agree about the interior.

Hugs,
Dave

Thanks, Joggie. I agree about the interior and suffice it to say I am still working on technique here.

I'm using a Coleman battery powered lantern to light up these interiors. Unfortunately straight up, the settings on it are too bright. I've tried to cover it to knock down the light but then it is too low of a light.

I'm also figuring I'm unable to get to it to turn it off during the exposure lest I capture my image as a blur. Though on other occasions of my night painting, I have it situated in a location where I can approach it and turn it off/on during the exposure. This shot was too close and nothing to obstruct my approach.

I also used a flash on this truck's interior in another shot. You couldn't even tell the flash had gone off... so again, working on technique, I have a lot to learn.

On this particular truck, I was where I was not supposed to be at 1:30 in the morning... so I was a bit worried about getting shot. Therefore, I didn't spend a lot of time working on various exposures and lighting... I got a few shots and got out of there.

I would love it if you look at some of the other night paintings I've done, especially the other vehicle shots... and let me know what you think!

Best wishes,
Dave

I like his yard... lol... :)
Not uncommon to see similar in some parts of Australia either. I used to live in the valley for awhile and there were plenty of these yards with all manner of dead cars, trucks and general garbage! Fascinating...

Good shot too of the fog shrouded moon (very poetic) car. I feel the interior has been slightly overlit, but that's my personal opinion.

And now you wil hate mne forever for saying so...
See how foolish I can be? Risking you hating me by expressing my opinion?

Hugs~
Ani :)

A lovely picture Dave - great work with the light painting. Interior seems a bit too bright though - compared to the rest. Still a great image!

Just to prove my point... here's the rest of this guy's yard... how would YOU like to live next to him?

Very common here in New Mexico. They don't throw anything out. If they do throw it out, they take it to a nearby Arroyo (creek) and dump it there.
