About A retired Viet Nam chopper pilot at Kramer Junction collects all things "transportation" and gives travelers a trip down memory lane as they pass his place.

Coincidentally, this retired Captain's nickname is "Tink", the same rare nickname of my older brother who was killed in Viet Nam. I spent an hour chatting with him before I heard someone call out his name.

You're welcome, Dave!:) It is glorious to be retired, but I may be going back to work part-time soon...financial necessity, and all that.;)

Whoops, I mean James. I shouldn't use that copy and paste at my age.

Thank you, Shirley. Sorry for the delay, just trying to catch up. I hate when work gets in the way of play. How glorious it must be to be retired.

Best wishes,
Dave

This is such a wonderful image, Dave. It has a life-like feel to it, I find myself expecting a guy with overalls to walk into the frame at any moment. Grain and toning were the perfect choice.
Regards, Gary

Nice shot. Must have been a bit haunting to hear him called after.

Thanks, Paul. Believe me, I had a hard time telling myself I had to get back on the road. Interestingly enough, the owner says he gets photogogs showing up all the time with models in tow to do shoots here.

Best wishes,
Dave

Dave, this ROCKS!

Thank you, Laura. I had a hard time deciding to use the sepia version or color shots of this, with the great colors of the signs and the truck. I ended up liking the sepia, too.

Best wishes,
Dave

Hi Dave,

Great sepia shot! I really like the grain. It definitely lends to the vintage look of the photo.
